With a Cherry On Top

On Saturday, Peter and I went with some friends to the Tidal Basin in D.C. to see the beautiful cherry blossom trees in bloom. There are about two weeks every year (depending on the weather) that the trees stay in full bloom. We were able to hit it just right, along with EVERYONE else in the surrounding area. Even though it was crowded, it was impossible not to enjoy what a gift nature gives us each year. Since we are only in the area for ten months, we have tried to take advantage of every weekend we could spare to sightsee and take in everything the D.C. area has to offer. We have both visited the nation's capital a few times before, but living here is totally different. You don't have to rush at any of the museums or cram anything in because you can always come back. We will be leaving soon and I will definitely miss that but we will try to take advantage of every place the Army sends us!!
